Movie Review :: Lootera

Posted on: July 7, 2013

I was drawn to Lootera the first time I saw its promo.Image The first look of the film reminded me somehow of the 80’s classic “The Godfather” – aesthetically speaking.

The movie is inspired by O. Henry’s 4 page story called “The Last Leaf” and Vikramaditya Motwane has spun magic with the tale. The story is set up in the early 1950’s – and you are drawn instantly into the lives of Paakhi and Varun. There is love, deception, heartbreak, angst, all beautifully captured and emoted.

The visuals and the music are brilliant. For me, the movie was totally worth my time and money.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate it at nothing less than a 5.
